Valentine’s Day can be a day of exuberant joy for some, or hum drum day for others. Whether you are single or have someone special in your life, elegance and style should always remain.

“All the Single Ladies, Put Your Hands Up!”

Valentine’s Day is a great time to have a ladies night out with your girlfriends. This can be a great night to bond, let your hair down and have fun. Having a single status doesn’t not have to mean doom and gloom on Valentine’s Day. Plan a night at a comedy club or have some day time fun and relaxation at the spa.

When out with the ladies, this is a great time to be casual chic; comfortable but still stylish. With that in mind, jeans of all varieties, skinny, boot cut or boyfriend jeans are great. Depending on the venue, I would be cautious about wearing boyfriend jeans as they tend to be more on the super casual side. Jeans are one of those staple items that you can dress up or down, it is very versatile.

Tops of many varieties can come into play here. Since you’re out with the ladies on Valentine’s Day, you can keep your look sexy without showing too much flesh. A nice sequined top with a cropped jacket would look great. A blouse that skims your curves without fitting skin tight works well too. Complete your look with simple but boldly stated accessories, high heeled boots and a nice bag (I recommend a nice clutch for an evening event).

Black skinny jeans, off white blazer and gold sequined top take the casual factor up a notch while remaining comfortable at the same time.

“Cupid Doesn’t Lie”

Valentine’s Day for couples can be stressful. For newer couples that want to make the best first Valentine's Day impression, the planning can be overwhelming. For seasoned couples it can be very easy going or very daunting. Therefore, if you can cross out "what to wear" off the list, you can get some of the weight off your shoulders.

Typically an evening out to dinner is always on the list this night. For this reason, a nice sexy dress seems fitting. Something well fit and sleek will keep a smile on your date’s face. Go against the crowd and choose a nice neutral color like a slate gray, black or white. Many others may be wearing red or pink. My top choice would be white (or even ivory) as the color symbolized pureness. When paired with a sexy silhouette, it gives your partner a delicious treat for the eyes.

If you would rather wear pants, I would go for a nice tailored pant in a neutral hue or you can try a monochromatic look from head to toe. Add silky or sequined top, strappy heels, metallic jewelry and a snakeskin clutch to create a nice, polished and sexy look.

“Last but not Least….”

No matter your relationship status, a gift on Valentine’s Day makes everyone feel special. So if it’s with your girls or with your significant other, don’t just bring yourself, bring something from the heart. A thoughtful gift always touches the heart.
